Frequently Asked Questions...

What does a small arrow stamp mean on the inside of a Native American Turquoise bracelet?

I know the bracelet is sterling silver because it has been testes, so I am ASSUMING that the small arrow stamped inside means sterling. What I am most curious about it the time period this stamping method was used and by what tribe. I know the Uncas used an arrow but the arrow was through a U. This is just a very small arrow stamped inside of a cuff bracelet. Thanks in advance for any answers....

Answer:

It's probably the maker's mark.
Sterling says either "sterling" or "925", otherwise it is nickel "silver", which is not silver at all.
