Frequently Asked Questions...

What would you suggest wearing to an internship interview at Anthropologie?

I have an interview for a Visual Display internship at Anthropologie. I'll be helping with the interior design of the store if I'm hired. I want to wear something that fits in with the overall aesthetic of the store, but as I'm a student, I don't actually own anything from there (though I wish I did!).

I am debating between two pairs of dress pants. One is a khaki color crop dress pant, and the other is a trouser pant in dark denim. The denim trousers do fit me better, and are cut like a dress pant, but I'm afraid it will look like I'm wearing jeans.

For the top I was considering one of my nicer blouses under a melon colored jacket that my grandmother gave me. I swapped out the buttons for peach colored ones, and I thought with a nice fabric flower brooch it would be interview appropriate but still fit the style.

So, what do you all think? Light color crop dress pants or denim trousers? Any other suggestions?

Answer:

DON'T wear denim. Some would argue with me but I don't see a difference between denim and jean. Jeans are made of denim! I would definitely go with the khakis if that's what you have to work with. If you had more money I would go with wearing Anthropologie clothing, but I understand that's not much of an option. Stores really do prefer that a person match the look of the store though. My boyfriend went in to apply at the Buckle once, but he went in something really... idk unfashionable and they didn't give him the time of day, I felt bad for him. Some cheaper alternatives for you:

*GAP --- mimic the clean lines of Anthropologie
*Wet Seal ---- mimic the Anthropologie's florals

Please help me answer mine, thanks : )
