Frequently Asked Questions...

What style or designer will flatter my size 10 hourglass figure?

I'm 5' tall but petite clothes are too tight for me.

I used to be built like a stick, but since gaining some weight, I've developed curves. Frankly, it's fun to have breasts and hips. I've worn some vintage-repro stuff (either a la Marilyn or Lucy Ricardo!) and those were the days that really revered those curves. You can't believe how many compliments I get on my "Lucy" skirt and I feel so feminine!

It was lucky flukes that I found these two dresses. Where should I look to find something which will flatter my figure? The hourglass design makes my waist look smaller than it is, thanks to being rather hippy.

I'd also like to find some pants outfits which will accomplish the same this. It's hard to find blouses with darts which taper into the waistline.

Remember I'm short. My clothes just hang on me. Help me get it together!

Incidentally, I can't wear true vintage clothes because they were designed for very tiny women.

Everyone is getting to used to buying clothing "off the rack". I would suggest you find a good seamstress. Buy clothes that most closely fit your size, and taste, then have them fitted specifically to your needs. The cost is a bit more but the results are well worth it.
