What do I need to know about straight razors before buying one for my husband?
My husband's birthday is coming up, and I wanted to get him something special that he would use every day. I decided that I'd like to get him a good quality straight razor and a shaving kit to go with it. I don't know very much about the brands and what to avoid in a straight razor or what to look for.
I know I'll need to get things to sharpen it with, but which kind? How do I avoid buying a razor that will tear up his skin, and do I send the razor away initially to get it sharpened, or should I get the things he'll need to sharpen it himself? i have a straight edge, been using it for years, also purchased a leather sharpener for it, mind is geman made soligan steel, spelling is wrong. get a high quality blade and he'll be happy with it, taskes time to get use to it
